OFORIKROM GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS JOIN FORCES FOR A CLEANER CITY: CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF OTUMFUO OSEI TUTU II'S REIGN

In a remarkable display of community spirit, the government schools in Oforikrom Municipality came together to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s reign and contribute to a cleaner city.

The event, organized by the Oforikrom Education Directorate aimed to honor the illustrious reign of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II while promoting environmental consciousness and civic responsibility among the students.

The cleanup exercise took place on Friday, March 22, 2024 and witnessed the active participation of government schools within the Oforikrom municipality.

The students embarked on a city-wide cleanup campaign, targeting key areas in Oforikrom. Armed with gloves, trash bags, and an indomitable spirit, they diligently picked up litter and raised awareness about the importance of keeping their surroundings clean. The initiative not only beautified the city but also instilled a sense of pride and responsibility in the young minds.

The Ashanti Regional Education Director, Dr. William Kwame Amankra Appiah, shared his knowledge and experiences, inspiring the students to become eco-warriors and change agents within their communities. He further explained to the students the important of cleanliness and personal hygiene.

Present was the Municipal Director of education Madam Dorothy Opare Baidoo and the Oforikrom Environmental Health and Sanitation Officer.
