The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Oforikrom, Hon. Anwel Sadat Ahmed, today, presented 200 LED streetlights to the Volta River Authority (VRA) to support improved lighting and security within its operational areas in the municipality.

The presentation took place at the forecourt of the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly and fulfills a commitment the MCE made during his recent working visit to the VRA facility at Anwomaso.

Officials of the Volta River Authority, led by the Acting Plant Manager, Mr. Ivan Micah-Amuah, received the items on behalf of the Authority.

Hon. Sadat Ahmed stated that the gesture forms part of the Assembly’s efforts to strengthen collaboration with key institutions operating within the municipality while also enhancing infrastructure and security. He noted that adequate street lighting remains critical to safety, operational efficiency and community development.

The MCE reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to honoring its pledges and sustaining productive partnerships that contribute to local development.

Receiving the streetlights, Mr. Micah-Amuah expressed appreciation to the Assembly for fulfilling its promise and pledged the Authority’s continued cooperation with the Municipal Assembly in matters of mutual interest.

The donation marks another step in the growing collaboration between the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly and the VRA aimed at promoting infrastructure development and improved service delivery within the municipality.
