President John Dramani Mahama’s nominee for Oforikrom Municipality, Anwel Sadat Ahmed, has been confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive following a vote by assembly members.

Out of 22 assembly members, 15 voted “Yes” representing 68.18% while 7 voted “No” representing 31.38% respectively.

The newly confirmed MCE, Anwel Sadat Ahmed in his victory address, expressed gratitude to the assembly members for the vote and vowed to tackle all uncompleted projects in the Municipality.

“During the 2024 general election, I was able to go round to tell them my vision. There are so many projects that I have started myself and I want to finish them. There are also abandoned projects here in Oforikrom, I want to finish.

“When you take a close look around, we don’t even have a municipal assembly office. The one ongoing is about 75% done, and I will ensure it is completed,” he stated.
